REKA A/S

Chain hopper

Reka, in collaboration with a customer, has developed a hopper for loose fuel with a density less than 150kg/m3.

This could be chopped straw or light wood shavings.

The light fuels can be a challenge to outfeed, because it has difficulty falling down and bridging can occur in the hopper.

By using chains to pull the fuel forward, these disadvantages are avoided.

The hopper is completed with a double bottom to avoid fallout.

Chain tension is created outside for easy maintenance and uses standard chain elements to easily be able to obtain spare parts.
